Support Your Local festival

This biennial Music Festival has been an important part of South Lakeland’s rich cultural life for well over a century. As a pioneer in its field, it has been the model for many other music festivals around the country and is a proud tradition; Mary Wakefield’s aim was to encourage and promote the love of making music and over 1000 people of all ages will enjoy many different ways of making music during the coming Festival.

 

Ever-increasing costs mean that maintaining the Festival’s long tradition of high standards can only continue with the support of many individual people, as well as businesses and grant-giving organisations. The Festival costs over £30,000 to stage; our policy of keeping ticket prices low to encourage wide participation, particularly by families, means that every contribution is greatly valued.

 

1. Sponsor an event - £50. Choose one of the events listed in the Diary of Festival Events, or perhaps a particular feature of an event, such as a soloist or conductor. This type of sponsorship would contribute specifically to professional fees. All sponsors’ names will be listed in the programme.

2. Sponsor one of the adjudicated classes - £25. Your name will appear in the programme with the class of your choice.

3. Donations always welcome to Festival funds.
